HomeAlone
HOME ALONE
Home Alone is a good-natured, albeit unrealistic, family film that both kids and
adults will enjoy if they're OK with the violence, profanity, and disrespectful
behavior within the family. Its endearing story and a charming performance by
Culkin make it a standout among the usual holiday movie fare. Without resorting
to the all-too-adult double entendres that dominate current family films,
this one focuses more on slapstick humor and innocence to convey its story.
That said, that reliance on slapstick humor ,doesn't mean its chock full of semi realistic violence. Its not for the weak-stomached and definitely requires some major suspension of disbelief
Culkin was nominated for
the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. It became the highest-grossing live
action comedy film of all times in the US after its release. I have watched the
movie many times; it teaches young children that that they must not only rely
on my parents, I must able to take care of myself when my parents are away, and
that also parents must always take care of their children, they must not leave
their children unattended.
