Father's
Day is considered as a day to acknowledge the contribution of fathers to
individual families and to societies as large. Observance of Father's Day helps
fathers feel that their contributions are acknowledged by their children. On
this day, children express thanks to their fathers for all their unconditional
love and affection. The day was celebrated on the 18 June.
Surprisingly enough,
the dates of the celebration of Father’s Day are not the same everywhere. The
customs and traditions differ from one country to the other. Father’s Day u is
celebrated on the various day of the entire world, most commonly it’s
celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of June. While countries including the
UK,US, France, South Africa ,Netherlands’, Greece, Japan, Canada and Saudi
Arabian celebrated Father’s Day every June 18.Others have the day completely
different date.
It’s speculated
that that the celebration dates different in the southern hemisphere because
June is their autumn, rather than their spring, and the day can be marketed
better in the spring season. The dates usually correspond to each country’s
culture bad traditions. All children’s wait for
this day to make the day more rememberable
and maker dads feel happy. People do different activities for their fathers.
Many people arrange surprise party, give gifts and express their love with
their father and celebrate the special day.
The idea originated in the USA and has been
officially celebrated on the third Sunday in June since 1966. The exact
origins of what we now know as Father’s Day are dubious, though we do
know the movement for a day which celebrated fatherhood began roughly
100 years ago. It’s a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to
celebrate, tribute and observe fathers and forefathers. It classically involves
gift- giving, special dinners for fathers, and family-oriented activities.
Father’s day is a day honouring fathers, brothers, uncles
or any vital male figure in one’s life. People often forget the sacrifices and
contribution of fathers and male figures have in our lives. Fathers’ Day gives
the opportunity to show and express love, adoration and gratitude to these
special people.
It is celebrated with enthusiasm and gifts galore to reflect on the
invaluable role and contribution of fathers in the family. People honour their
father and express gratitude for his love and affection on Father's Day. The
event is popularly perceived as a time for family reunion as well, with
children staying away from families coming together to celebrate the day with
their fathers and other loved ones
For many people the day brought back memories good and bad. As destiny
may have, some people used the day to remember their late father. Others
questioned themselves as in why their fathers disappeared on them. Certain
individuals got emotional-evoked of their fathers abusing their mothers.
Particular people remembered their fathers by recalling that they were denied
by their biological fathers. Various beings nostalgically remembered that their
fathers were and are not there when they needed them the most. Several people
longingly recalled how their fathers abused them.
nonetheless the day show these deserving men what a
special place they have in our lives and what influence they have on each and
every one of us.
Father's Day helps children come closer
to their father. Celebration of the festival helps them understand the
important role their father play in their life. This helps in strengthening
father-child relationship and consequently in the emotional development of a
child.
For
me Father’s Day is just like any normal day because I constantly reciprocate
and express my heartfelt love, appreciation and gratefulness of my father. But
I do honour the day and celebrate - said Sibonele Mahlangu, a 17 year old from

Persons must therefore use the day to reciprocate their love for fathers
with all their heart. The best way to do so is by saying “I love you dad” with
a gift of beautiful flower. It’s been reasoned that Rose is the official flower
of Father’s Day. Red roses are for living fathers and white roses are the
deceased
